Three Great Falls students, Charlie Kotthoff, Lily Kirkaldie, and Danica Sabo, have achieved national recognition for their innovative app, Cursive Create. This app, designed to help users practice cursive reading and writing, was a result of their personal experience with the decline of cursive education. The students developed the app through an after-school coding program, showcasing their dedication and teamwork. Cursive Create offers interactive features such as practicing cursive letters, reading and translating cursive sentences, comparing handwriting, and playing educational games. The app's success has led to an invitation to present it at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., alongside other student innovators. However, the trip requires self-funding, and the team is currently raising funds to cover travel costs. This experience highlights the importance of community support in providing students with real-world skills and confidence, allowing them to pursue their ideas and make a national impact.
