In an exciting announcement that has captured the attention of the swimming community, high school junior Landon Hall from Knoxville, Tennessee, has verbally committed to joining Arizona State University for the 2027-28 academic year. This pivotal moment in his athletic career reflects not only his talent but also the hard work and sacrifices made along the way. Hall expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt message to SwimSwam, stating:
"I am thrilled to share my verbal commitment to Arizona State University! I want to extend my deepest thanks to Jesus Christ for guiding me and always being by my side. I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to my parents for their unwavering support, and to Coach Chris for motivating me to reach my full potential. A special shoutout goes to Coach Herbie and Coach Jack for presenting me with this fantastic opportunity. Forks up!! 😈🔱"
Currently attending Concord Christian School, Hall swims year-round with the Atomic City Aquatic Club. He has been recognized as one of the top breaststroke recruits in his class, making our list of promising swimmers in the "Way Too Early" rankings for the high school class of 2027.
Hall's performance in 2025 was nothing short of impressive, showcasing significant improvement across all events in both short course yards (SCY) and long course meters (LCM). At the Tennessee Independent School State Championships held in February, he achieved a commendable third place finish in both the 100 breaststroke—where he set a personal best of 54.81 seconds—and the 200 individual medley, clocking in at a personal record of 1:49.24. In addition, he recorded lifetime bests during the relays, leading off with an impressive 23.17 seconds in the backstroke portion of the 200 medley and 21.20 seconds in the 200 freestyle.
A month later, at the Speedo Southern Premier, Hall continued to shine, lowering his times in several events including the 100 freestyle (46.32 seconds), 200 breaststroke (2:01.66 seconds), 100 butterfly (49.31 seconds), and 200 butterfly (1:47.88 seconds).
Most recently, he competed at the Winter Juniors East, where he reached the finals in three events: 100 breaststroke (17th place), 200 breaststroke (11th place), and 200 individual medley (13th place). During these events, he set new personal bests in the 100 breaststroke (53.72 seconds), 200 breaststroke (1:58.16 seconds), 100 butterfly (48.75 seconds), and 200 individual medley (1:47.37 seconds).
In the long course season, Hall saw similar success, achieving lifetime bests this summer in several events: 50 breaststroke (29.60 seconds), 100 breaststroke (1:05.33 seconds), 200 breaststroke (2:24.35 seconds), 50 butterfly (26.25 seconds), 100 butterfly (56.62 seconds), 200 butterfly (2:05.92 seconds), and 200 individual medley (2:10.34 seconds), with all but the 100 butterfly recorded at the Speedo Junior National Championships.
His best times in short course include:
* 50 breast – 25.61 seconds
* 100 breast – 53.72 seconds
* 200 breast – 1:58.16 seconds
* 200 IM – 1:47.37 seconds
* 100 fly – 48.75 seconds
* 200 fly – 1:47.88 seconds
Landon Hall will join the Sun Devils alongside fellow recruits like Ben Jaggers, Gavin Halusic, Aidan Collins, Harrison Tater, and Thor Johannessen as part of the class of 2031. Notably, his impressive times are already competitive enough to qualify for the ‘B’ finals in the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, and 200 individual medley events at the Big 12 Championships.
